Val d’Orcia, Tuscany, Italy

The southern Val d’Orcia is one of the most idyllic and wild areas of middle Italy and yet perfectly placed for cultural exploration. Set in a peaceful valley between Mount Rufeno Natural Reserve, Trevinano, San Casciano dei Bagni and Radicofani it is still easy to get to many charming villages and their typical restaurants.

It is a perfect base for relaxing with thermal waters and treatments in the complex of San Casciano dei Bagni (8km). Siena, Perugia and Viterbo are about 70 km from the farmhouse and Orvieto, Montalcino, Pienza, Città della Pieve and Bolsena lake are really near for visiting. Rome and Florence are at a distance of about 150 km each.

The House:

set in its own ample and charming garden, is a fine property with stunning views all around. It is a typical 19th century stone farmhouse of Tuscan rural architecture, recently restored. Its rustic but elegant structure and its roof’s wooden warping have been kept intact.

It has a facing stone courtyard, shaded by glycine, ideal for dining and a swimming pool (9m x 4m) situated in a private place enclosed by a stonewall with pergola.
