Girona, Spain
Catalonia is a beautiful area of Spain, on the north-east of the Iberian peninsula. It has great cosmopolitan cities such as the amazing Barcelona with its fantastic art nouveau buildings, and the historical Girona (40 minutes away) with its great old Jewish quarter. Cruïlles, where Mas Botero is situated, is a medieval village once surrounded by walls, near to La Bisbal d’Empordà, a bustling centre with excellent food shops and a wonderful Friday morning market where every kind of fruit, vegetable and other produce can be had for a bargain. There is much to do locally go karts, skydiving, fishing trips, snorkelling (the coast is 25 minutes away), golf, kayaking etc or you can just relax on a shady swinging bed by the pool.
The House:
A substantial and attractive masia, newly restored, with a very spacious feel and lovely views from the pool towards the Gavarres hills. It’s airy and cool, with frequent use of windows in the roof to bring in the light. The fittings are all of the highest quality as the house is set up as a home, not a rental property. The nearby villages of Cruïlles and San Sadurní provide fresh bread daily and have excellent little restaurants.

Access and location:
The house is easily reached from Girona Airport (40 minutes) and Barcelona Airport (1 hr 45 minutes). Good car hire is available from both, or the train can take you to Flaça (20 minutes). Taxis can be arranged locally for airport collection and delivery.
