Andalucia

Andalucia, Spain

The stunning Sierra Nevada is one of the few remaining areas where tapas are still served with drinks free of charge. It is a paradise for walkers, with a wide variety of flora and fauna and many mapped paths, which can also be trekked on horseback. Moorish architecture is abundant, and picturesque whitewashed villages dot the mountainside.

The most beautiful stretch of totally unspoiled coastline in Spain is about 1.5 hours away, where the clear blue waters are perfect for snorkelling. At Salobrena 40 minutes way, one can eat freshly caught barbecued sardines at the beachside restaurants.

Legendary Granada with the famous Alhambra is also under an hour away.

The House:

The House is a collection of five stone built buildings around 600 years old and beautifully restored in the local traditional way, with oiled chestnut beams and cane ceilings in every room. The lovely garden is filled with flowers and from the pool terrace you have an unobstructed view to the top of Spain’s highest mountain. It sleeps 9 comfortably and comprises:

Access and location:

Nestled 3000 feet above sea level the house is easily accessible from both Granada and now the new motorway is complete, from Malaga too. Granada airport being only a one hour drive and Malaga one and three quarters. The motorway extends to the end of the valley and the remaining 18 kilometres are on a well maintained local A road. The house itself is 1.5 klms from this road on a stone track.

The owners say:

“With its breathtaking views and complete privacy the house inspires timeless tranquillity and restfulness. Two days spent here can feel like two weeks. It's wonderful!”
