The Island:
The idyllic island of the Ile de Re is 30 km long but just 3 km wide. There are 10 different villages and 2 of them are ranked among the 100 Most Beautiful Villages in France. St. Martin de Re is the capital and was largely created by Louis XIV's architect Vauban as a star-shaped fort and harbour. It is now a lively Unesco World Heritage site, with lots of restaurants and cafes.
The House:
Set in a quiet back street, this charming family house is all designed on one floor for easy living for all ages. Facing south and west, it is bathed in light and the well planted courtyard garden is a perfect place to relax or enjoy al fresco meals.
The house sleeps 6 and includes:

- 1 Single bedroom with extra bed
- Bathroom with bath and shower
- Large living/dining room with fireplace
- American kitchen with all modern equipment

Access and location:
La Rochelle is only 30 minutes away, across the 3km bridge which connects the island to the mainland. La Rochelle airport flies every day to many destinations in the UK and across Europe. The train station is served by the TGV to Paris and across France.
